What to Expect
The “intake” or interview process can last up to 30 minutes, especially for your initial visit. Follow-up appointments generally go more quickly, unless you have a new complaint.
There are many modalities we might use in the course of your treatment. Your case may benefit from acupuncture/acupressure, cupping, electrical stimulation of acupuncture needles, moxa, or more. Your acupuncturist has been trained in all of these modalities, and will discuss your options with you. Ideally, a treatment plan will be outlined for continuation of care.
In order to make your treatment run smoothly, please wear loose-fitting clothing if possible. Please be sure to eat something before your treatment, especially if it is your first time.
During your intake, please know that we do ask some unique questions. The more information we can get, the more accurate your treatment will be. If you are uncomfortable discussing an aspect of your health with us, don’t hesitate to let us know – your comfort is our priority.
